14/03/2010 Yate 3rds secure League Championship
The Yate 3rd team secured the title on Saturday with a 4-0 win over Westbury & UB 'E'. With closest rivals UWE 'C' losing to Robinsons 'D' 7-1, Yate are now 6 points clear with only 1 game to play, making them Champions of Bristol & N. W. Somerset Division 3.
Yate have an impressive 16 wins, with only 2 draws and a single loss so far this season, having scored 84 goals and conceded only 12, giving them a +72 GD.
Yate will be looking to avenge their 1 loss next week when they play Westbury & UB 'F', who managed to beat them 3-1 before Christmas.
Well done to the whole team, who have worked hard all season, and particularly the defence having kept an amazing 12 clean sheets so far.
The 3rds are now looking forward to playing in Bristol & N. W. Somerset Division 2 next season.
