Junior Section
Membership CriteriaWe require children to attend at least 2 in 3 sessions to remain members of the juniors. We will review the attendance levels on a regular basis as we only want committed individuals.
Membership and Match Fees
We have decided to keep the fees the same as last year so the following applies:
- Annual Membership Fee : £10 (free to members of the adult clubs)
- Match / training fees : £80 This covers all training and pitch fees for junior matches but excludes indoor fees which are £3 per session.
All fees to be paid by cheque only, made payable to "Yate Junior Hockey Club". Please put the name of your child on the back of the cheque. This covers all training and match fees (about 28 sessions).
Just to complicate matters, if any of the boys also become members of the adult section, there is an agreement in place that £10 will be deducted from their Senior membership fees. Sorry girls, there is no such agreement in place with the Ladies although a request has been made to YLHC that the same policy is followed.
A £3 charge is payable for any juniors involved in fixtures who are not members of the junior section. This will mainly apply to the U15 squads in the Avon League / HA Cup.
New Players / Leavers
New players of all ages / gender are welcome but we do especially require some more goalkeepers.
First Aid
Mark (Haggis) Harris informed me that he is a qualified First-Aider so – with Andy – that is two first aiders that we have. If there any more out there, please can you let Andy know.
Selection Policy
Where possible, we will endeavour to ensure that all of the children are given the opportunity to play in matches but – for the younger ones – the coaches will have to assess when they are ready. For friendlies, we tend to rotate selection but for competitions we put out our strongest teams.
Jackets
For those of you interested in purchasing a club jacket. They will cost £17 and you can have 3 initials on the jacket. Sizes to choose from are XL, L, M, S and XS. It is critical to get the right size as I cannot return them because they will have been embroidered. I can only accept an order once I have a cheque, made payable to "Yate Junior Hockey Club".
