Mens Club Rules and Regulations

Rules of the Yate Mens Hockey Club are:
  1. That this club shall be called "The Yate Hockey Club" and shall be subject to the following Rules or any additions and amendments to Rules which may be approved at a General Meeting.

  2. That the Management of the Club shall be vested in a Committee elected by vote at the Annual General Meeting, four to a quorum, consisting of:-
    • Chairman;
    • Treasurer;
    • Secretary;
    • 1st team captain;
    • 2nd team captain;
    • 3rd team captain;
    • 4th team captain;
    • Summer league captain;
    • Fixture secretary;
    • Press officer;
    • Social secretary;
    • Junior co-ordinator.

    The committee to fill any vacancy which may occur during the season.

  3. That the Club shall consist of President, Vice-Presidents and Playing Members.

  4. Fees
    1. The annual subscription shall be £80.00. If the subscription is paid before 1 October, a £20.00 reduction will be made to £60.00. Those in full time education or unemployed shall pay £40.00. If the subscription is paid before 1 October, a £10.00 reduction will be made to £30.00.
    2. A levy of £10.00 per player, per match will be paid except those in full time education or unemployed who will pay £5.00. A £5.00 reduction will be allowed if a club member umpires for another match involving Yate Hockey Club on the same day.

  5. Prospective members of the Club shall be proposed and seconded by any two members, such proposals to be forwarded to the Secretary or Chairman, who shall submit them to the Committee for consideration.
    1. This rule shall apply to temporary members.
    2. The management reserves the right to refuse admission to the Club.

  6. Membership of the Club ceases on resignation to the Secretary or Chairman.

  7. That a Special Meeting shall be called at any time by the Secretary or Chairman on being requested to this effect by at least seven members of the Club. At least 14 days notice must be given to Club Members of any meeting.

  8. That the teams shall be chosen by a Selection Committee consisting of Captains, and the Vice Captains, as nominated by each Captain.

  9. That the Club shall be affiliated to the Gloucestershire Hockey Association, West Hockey Association and England Hockey.

  10. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams shall play in The West of England & South Wales Hockey League, and the 4th team shall play in the Badgers Hockey Circle.
